The controversial transparent (see-through) shoes appeared discreetly in 2011. What started off as a micro trend, with few chances to actually hit the streets, took an unexpected acceptance during the spring of 2012. This happened because designers like Dolce & Gabbana and Marc Jacobs among others, filled the runways with Vinyl and PVC, signaling the start of one of the biggest shoe trends of the year.
Five years later “see-through” shoes evolved into an embodiment of transparency and lightness.
